Radio Visit

Young people from the Crime & Community Safety group took the opportunity to visit Galaxy Radio today.

The young people are in the process of commissioning a set of 4 radio adverts, which will be ran 63 times over a two-week period.

Mobile phone safety and cyber bullying are the themes, which the young people have identified as priority issues for young people within the District.

1 in 10 11-19 year olds have been bullied or threatened via a text message

More than 1 in10 young people admit they have sent a bullying or threatening text message to someone else. 50% of Galaxy audience are aged 11-24.

235,000 11-24 year olds listen to Galaxy each week.

 

The young people will also be fund-raising over the next few months in order to establish a mobile phone safety and cyber-bullying website connected to the Galaxy website for one year. The young people also hope to use this site to gauge the impact of the campaign via user feedback.
